Folkestone's West Beach 1895
A very interesting photo of Folkestone's West Beach dating from around 1895. In the background is the Victoria Pier, and the row of bathing machines are sandwiched inbetween two of Mr. Fagg's Safety Bathing Carriages. Beyond the bathers, you can see the yacht, possibly the Gertie, that was available for hire, and in the foreground are rowing boats also available for a price by the hour.
