I asked Alan if that logo I could see in the window of the building below was an earlier location of the Salvation Army.  He replied:  "The logo is on a shop at the corner of Bradstone Road & New street, it was occupied by Reginald Percy Hawkins, Boot Repairer from 1912 to c1952. The logo maybe reads The Nugget.  The premises were demolished in 1973 and the site has not been developed again."

Alan told me that the photo above was added to his latest book and alongside is a modern photograph of that location taken from the same angle.  I recommend you track down all of Alan's books, they are many, and each one better than the last.
